Calligraphy and Illumination
Anthea is a Calligrapher and Lettering Artist based in Suffolk with a special interest in gold illumination. Her love of literature, the visual arts and history informs all her work; using different writing instruments, quills, metal nibs and brushes on vellum, paper and wood. She teaches private individuals, runs workshop and works to commission.
Her studio was once the old tailor's shop, Stitcher Hollocks by name, and overlooks the green of a medieval village. He can still be remembered sitting cross legged on his work bench, threading the air with his needle, where now she wields her pen.
